Located
at 3700 meters of altitude, La Paz which was founded in 1548
by the Spaniards, is the highest capital of the world (siége
of the government since 1900).
During the colonial time, La Paz will remain a long time a peaceful
village, now it became a large city of more than one million

The agglomeration of Paz includes/understands in fact two cities.

The national museum of Tiwanaku Archaeology has an extremely
complete collection of archaeological vestiges of the period
précolombienne: ceramics of the north of Paz, mummies
found in the department of Oruro, or of trépanés
craniums and craniums lengthened and deformed artificially.
The museoTambo Quirquincho is dedicated to the "chola"(the
woman of Paz) this museum exposes masks, costumes typical,
a great choice of photographs of the beginning of century,
old charts, silver objects and parts of contemporary art.
The street Jaen is the only place of Paz which
preserved its colonial aspect. Paved narrow lanes curve among
white colonial houses with the projecting balconies of which

Sorata is the most beautiful village of the Bolivian Andes,

out of the commun run of which the "way of the gold"
which remains the most beautiful trekking of Bolivia, but
