Brazil
covers almost half of South America . The country divides
its borders in North, the South and the East with almost all
the countries of South America (excluded Chile and Ecuador).
Brazil is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean in the west. It is
a relatively flat country and the mountainous zones do not
exceed 3000 meters of altitude. Nearly 60% of the surface
is a plate, the remainder being a plain.
The basin of Rio of Plata to the confluence of the rivers
Parana and Uruguay (both having their source in Brazil) in
the south of the country is practically the zone of which
topography is varied. It is more raised zone and which is
not covered by the Amazonian forest. In the North of the Amazonas
river, one finds the grounds high of Guyana, a zone of tropical
forest and rocky desert. The high grounds of the interior
between the Amazonas river and the river basins of the South
form an immense plate called el Mato Grosso. From Mato Grosso
a mountainous chain rises towards the Western South parallel
with the littoral of the Atlantic Ocean.
