The valley
of Maule, in the south of Talca, accomodates good number of
viticultural establishment which, for the majority, receive
the visitors cordially.
The landscapes to cut the breath abound in Area de Proteccíon
Radal Siete Tazas and in Reserved Nacional Altos del Lircay,
the latter offering of superb hiking trails. Among the other
attractions of this part of Chile, it is advisable to mention
one strolls in the train on narrow gauge railways, the visit
of a museum devoted to the Mapuches traditions and a string
of cultural monuments.
The Terms of Chillán are also to retain for their thermal
springs and their slopes of ski, a combination which one finds
in other tourist centers, while several balneal small stations
await you on the coast.
The main city of the area is Concepcíon, which with
more than one half-million of inhabitants is the third metropolitan
region in importance of Chile.
