Colombia is located in South America. It is in extreme cases
of the Caribbean Sea in North, of Panama in Western North,
the Pacific Ocean in the West, Ecuador and Peru in North East
and Brazil in the South.
The Andes are divided into three cordilleras: Western, central
and Eastern. These three cordilleras form the Andean area
where are gathered a great part of the most important cities:
Santa Fe of Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Popayan, Pasto, Tunja
and Manilez.
In North, in the area of the Atlantique coast one finds the
towns of Cartagena, Santa Marta and Barranquila.
In the area of the Peaceful coast, one finds the towns of
Quibdo, Buenaventura and Tumaco.
The other areas are those of Orinoco and Amazonia.
Colombia has several islands, most important are the island
of San Andrés and Providencia, to 700 km of the coast
of the Caribbean and Gorgona, Gorgonilla and Malpelo in the
Pacific.
The Country administratively consists of 31 departments.
