The hydropathic establishment Tabacón Resort is a famous idea! Ten thermal spring swimming pools coming from Río Tabacón, of the falls, two restaurants and two bars (of which one in the water of one of the swimming pools) invite to the relaxation. Each swimming pool offers moreover a temperature specific, going from 23ºC with 40ºC, the whole in an installation of luxury and surrounded of a luxuriant forest with a beautiful sight on the volcano! Refugio Nacional de Vida Woodland Caño Negro is located at the extreme north of the country near Nicaragua. Of a surface of 9 969 ha, this reserve has good reputation thanks to its lake of 800 ha, whose importance varies according to the rain season which inflates Río Frío considerably. At the time of the dry season, that is to say between January and April, the lake Caño Negro, a maximum depth of 3 m, decreases gradually in surface, for sometimes disappearing completely! The majority of the visitors will like to discover the reserve in boat or boat starting from Los Chiles, via Río Frío.
