The archipelago of Sabana-Camaguey henceforth bears also the name of Los Jardines del Rey, which means "the gardens of the Spanish king". The legend tells that the conquistador Diego Velázquez ventured in this area in 1513 and 1514, and that it was fascinated by the beauty of the places. This archipelago, largest from the country, is separated from the island of Cuba by a whole of lagoons and not very deep bays.
