If you have one week or two front you , do not fail you to explore one of the most diversified areas country. In more of benefitting from splendid mountainous landscapes, the provinces of Las Villas have pleasant beaches as well as charming colonial cities.

During the way towards the east, you will meet Cienfuegos, capital of the province of the same name, which has many attractions and a past rich in history. The principal economic activity of this province is the sugar production, but one cultivates there also the tobacco and the coffee in the mountainous zones. The sinuous road which leads of Cienfuegos to Trinidad borders the mountains of Escambray, which are drawn up, majestic, at the horizon. The landscapes appear superb and, in clear weather, you will have sorrow to resist the call of the mountains. Trinidad is in the province of Sancti Spíritus, where lived Taïnos formerly, before being exterminated by the Spaniards. The economy of the area is dominated by the culture of the cane with sugar. The arrival with Trinidad, dissimulated with the foot of Escambray, will irremediably plunge you in the atmosphere of the Spanish colonial time. The city also offers excellent museums, good restaurants and an animated night life.
