Honduras
is located at the limit of Nicaragua in the south East, Guatemala
in the West and El Salvador in the Western South.
The Northern coast of the country is bordered by the Caribbean
Sea and the coast Southern by the Pacific Ocean.
A central mountainous system which traverses all the country
of Is in West is crossed by rivers which emerge in the Caribbean
Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
The low grounds of the Southern part form a plain along the
coast of the Pacific. In the Gulf of Fonseca, in the Western
South, there are many islands and volcanos.
The large fertile valleys of the low grounds located close
to the Caribbean Sea are mainly dedicated to the culture of
bananas. However, there are also great extents of Honduran
grounds which are not suited to agriculture.
The majority of the population are concentrated in the Western
half of the country. The zone which is around Puerto Cortés,
which extends from the Lake Yojoa towards North to the Caribbean
Sea is populated also enough.
