TEGUCIGALPA
The capital of Honduras located at nearly 1000 meters of altitude,
profits from a fresh and pleasant climate. Tegucigalpa is surrounded
of a belt of mountains covered with pines. Tegucigalpa means
"money mountain".
The cathedral, built to the 18 3rd century has an interior of
style baroque and contains many artistic works. A pleasant garden,

Owner of Honduras. To 13 km of Tegucigalpa, Santa Lucia is a

city. To 11 km after Santa Lucia is Valle de Angeles, an old
mining city which was restored in the 16 3rd century style.
To 12 km surroundings, is another picturesque city, Ojojona
which is characterized by its craft industry. In the North-East
of the city the National park Tigra is one of the most beautiful
places in Honduras. Located at 2270m of altitude, the purpose
of the park is to safeguard flora and fauna, and live there

COMAYAGUA
Comayagua is the old capital of Honduras (1537-1880), of many
vestiges of the colonial time are present in this city.
To visit
The splendid cathedral built between 1685 and 1715. It keeps
many treasures of which one of the oldest clock in the world.
Manufactured there is more than 800 years by the Moors for
the palate of Alhambra, the clock was offered to the city
by the king Philippe 2 of Spain. The city also shelters the
first university built in Central America (1632), reconverts
nowadays in colonial museum. The oldest church, Merced, goes
up at 1558. The churches San Francisco (1584) and Caridad
(1730) are of also strong architectural interest.
RUINS
OF COPAN
The archeological site, classified by UNESCO, is open tous.les.jours
and present at the visitors one of the most remarkable cities
of Maya Civilization. The Acropolis which contains the sculptures
of 16 kings de Copan; the Stele of the Great Place; the court
of the play of ball (ball) and its staircases decorated with
low hieroglyphic reliefs are of an exceptional beauty.
TELA and
TRUJILLO
Are both of the harbour cities and the seaside resorts in
full tourist growth. Tela and Trujillo deploy the charm of
the beaches to white and powdery sand, with the idyllic decorations,
bordered on a side by the coconuts and other by a blue and
limpid sea. Trujillo has an interesting archaeological museum
as fall it from William Walker, celebrates corsair of the
Caribbean. In the west of the city the district Barrio Cristales
is where the afro-American community of Garifunas saw. Tela

ISLANDS
ROATAN, GUANAJA and UTILA
Located at 50 km in the north of Honduras, these islands are
the must for fishing and deep-sea diving. It should be known
that Honduras is the country, after Australia, which has the
largest barrier of coral reefs in the world. Here also it
is a succession of landscapes of postcard which constitute
these islands. The Western part of Roatan is tourist.
MOSQUITIA
Located at the North-East of Honduras, the area shelters the
splendid natural reserve of Rio Platano, classified by UNESCO
(surface of 5.251 km²). Circuits in boats are proposed
on the rivers and the lagoons of the reserve. Populated by
the Mosquitos Indians, Paid and Sumos, Mosquitia is a tropical
forest.
HOG ISLANDS
Also called Cayos Cochinos, this small group of islands and
reefs is located at 17 km of the coast close to Ceiba. Already
inhabited by the Mayas, Hog Islands have the characteristic
to present benches of coral reefs of black color. From Nueva
Armenia, it is possible to visit by boats Hog Islands.
MARITIME
PARK NATIONAL PUNTA SAL
This park contains fôrets of mangrove as well as a small
tropical forest, coral reefs and a rock peninsula. The park
knew to keep its original aspect, the roads are developed
little, however a great project of development in bay of Tela
is currently in construction.
EL TIGER
(in the south of the country)
In this volcanic island which rises with 783 meters of altitude
in the golf of Fonseca, is the village of Amapala. A small
