One
tends to forget that one of the large protagonists
of the cuban revolution was Argentinian. Resulting
from the middle-class, Ernesto Guevara grows in Buenos
Aires, but suffering on asthma, his/her parents decide
for his health to settle in the small town of Alta
Gracia, famous for its beneficial climate.
From a not very ordinary intelligence, it obtained
in 1953 its doctorate of medicine, at the 25 years
age. Large traveller, it traversed all the Latin America,
become aware of the poverty and the social injustice
which reigned. Forsaking a promising career of doctor,
it decided in 1954, to link itself with the cuban
movement led by Fidel Castro, persuaded that the revolution
was the only way of restoring the rights of the Latin
people. The dictator deposed Fulgencio Batista, Che
was named Minister of Industry in Cuba, role which
it held of 1961 to 1965. But soon he refused to be
combined with orthodoxe Communism and left to continue
the revolution. He went to Congo, then to Argentina,
trying to destabilize the governments.
In Bolivia, it took the head of the peasants and the
minors, fighting against the soldiers with the capacity.
Tracked, it was finally cut down in 1967. Its short
and upsetting life gave rise to the legend of Che,
whose ideals are still quite alive today.
