The territory vénézuélien contains fabulous natural richnesses of which a great part remains still unexploited . Oil generates approximately 8% of the gross national product (GNP), one estimates that it has approximately 6% of the known reserves of planet.
The iron ore, whose exploitation is controlled, as well as oil, by a company of state, represents the second greater richness natural of the country.
Guyana Vénézuélienne hides important gold bauxite deposits and diamonds. Among the other mineral richnesses that the country has let us mention coal, zinc, manganese and the money.

L ' agriculture is for a long time regarded as one of the weak links of the economy of Venezuela. The state tried to support productions considered to be "strategic" as the cane with sugar, cotton and rice.
The small family farms, that one finds in the mountainous areas, provide especially coffee and cocoa for export, and of but and beans for local consumption.

Lastly, the immense plane extents of Llanos are used as places of pasture with the bovines, the horses and the pigs.
